The Annual Sharing and Caring Hands Children's Dental Health Care Day was a huge success again this year! Take a look at the photo slideshow...

The Annual Sharing and Caring Hands Dental Health Care Day was held on Saturday, February 3, 2007. In honor of National Children's Dental Health Month, again this year, the event was planned with the help of the Volunteer Services Committee of the Minneapolis District to provide dental health care for those children who are currently staying at Mary's Place at Sharing and Caring Hands.

Drs. William Hoffmann and Teresa Fong coordinated another very successful event with more than 70 volunteers (dentists, hygienists, assistants, office staff) from the area who provided free dental treatment to the children from the shelter at Mary's Place.

The dental treatment was provided at Sharing and Caring Hands Dental Clinic on Saturday, February 3. The treatment included x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, restorations, and oral surgery. In addition, the dental professionals provided dental education on how to properly brush, floss and care for teeth.

Again this year, all of the supplies for the event were donated which included toothbrushes, toothpaste, teeth cleaning materials, x-ray film, fluoride treatments, sealants, masks, gloves, dental health educational materials and posters.

Throughout the day, the children were entertained by the Shriner's Funster's Clown Club and Goldie Gopher from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. All children received goodie bags filled with an array of dental products, toys, stickers, books and many other things. Everyone enjoyed refreshments of bottled water and apples.

The 2008 Annual Sharing and Caring Hands Children's Dental Health Care Day has been scheduled.  Please mark your calendars for Saturday, February 2, 2008 and plan to attend this very worthwhile and rewarding event.
